Wordless Wednesday - Backyard Guests

Our 'protector,' Barney, always alerts us when we have guests, including our backyard friends. This evening, as Barney dashed out the backdoor, I had phone-in-hand and caught two deer...and the back-side of 'mama deer' darting away!  (You can see her 'back-side' to the left of the fence - she leaped right over a row of 5-6 foot tall bushes, totally effortlessly!)

We thoroughly enjoy watching our backyard guests at least 2-3 days a week in SouthPark! #CityLife  #LivingInSouthPark

Happy Wednesday!

Those are wonderful "neighbors" you have, Debe.  I also like the landscape of your yard.

What a cool sight to see!  I have seen deer out on some of my hikes.  I think they look really cool and could never imagine shooting one, as some people do.

Praful Thakkar - Yes, you should!!  It's a challenge though - they will leap away with the blink of an eye when I step outdoors - no matter how softly I tread!

Hi Bob Crane!  Yes, somehow he awakens from a deep sleep when he senses they're in the backyard - it's the most intriguing thing!

Hi Venancio Gonzalez! It just seems surreal that I can live smack-dab in the middle of the city and have these gorgeous creatures of nature right in my backyard!

Kat Palmiotti - I always worry about them jumping the fence and dining on our shrubbery but, so far, so good!

Sandy Padula and Norm Padula, JD, GRI NMLS#1483386 - Oh, I could NEVER do that!  They're far too beautiful to admire alive than the other option!

Good thing you have a fence there to guard the plants since those deer would eat them up.

Hi Debe,

Great shot.  I actually got shocked when I saw  two visitors feeding on my grass. My husband got it on video!  I may post it later!

Yes Debe, dogs do have remarkable senses, my wifes little dog lets me know 5 minutes before she gets home as he crawls out from under his blanket and yips at the door.
