Community Shredding Event on Saturday, May 20 from 9 to Noon. Hosted by Kelly Lux, State Farm Insurance people are invited to bring loose paper for free shredding. No limits for amount or size of paper but photos and x-ray can not be shredded. Come to 564 Park Street in Alameda. For more information, please call 510-521-1225.
The Alameda’s Farmer’s Market is open to the public Saturday May 20, and Tuesday, May 23 mornings from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, rain or shine. All the fruits and vegetables are available at great prices. So good! Don’t miss the opportunity to shop for delectable fruits, vegetables and flowers. The market is on Webster Street and Haight Avenue and is open rain or shine.
Alameda South Shore Center and Off the Grid food trucks will be at South Shore on Saturday, May 20, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm in the South Shore Center parking lot in front of Petco.
Crab Cove for Family Nature Fun Hour for “Low Tide Exploration” to learn about what animals are living in the mud and rocks, on Saturday, May 13, at 2:00 pm, then see what is going on at the Visitor’s Center. Crab Cove is located at 1252 McKay Avenue. Please call 510-544-3187 for more information.

Community Sailing Day, hosted by Libraries Outside and Alameda Community Sailing Center on Saturday, May 20 from Noon to 5:00 pm at the Encinal Boat Ramp, 190 Central Avenue. Free sailing, b-b-q and opportunities to learn about sailing clubs in Alameda. Burgers and hot dogs provided, guests requested to bring other additional foo to share. Please call for reservations 510-747-7713. Waiver is required.
