Ways to Get a Refreshed Look in Your Home
Here are some wonderful ideas for anyone who is selling their home. Debbie Reynolds gives some very useful and easy tips that will make any home look more attractive:
Quick and Easy Refreshers for Your HomeI love to help home sellers get their homes ready to sell but sometimes a home needs a refresher even if the homeowner is not preparing to move. Doing a few inexpensive changes and can make homeowners enjoy their homes even more and want to share the fresh look with friends and family.A little redesign can make such a difference and doesn't have to be costly. Here are some ways to do a refresh and give your home a quick facelift.1) Paint a room or even one wall with an accent color. This gives the whole room a different feeling and also gives an opportunity to bring in other accents pieces to set it off. It can really make a room pop.2) Throw pillows are easily changed. These can be changed with season and can take the eyes away from tired or well worn furniture. Complete the look with other accents pieces and wall hangings that bring out the colors and draw the eyes upward.3) Though I am not a fan of most curtains framing windows with some sheer panels will leave the windows open, letting in lots of light and serve to dress up the look. Pretty shutters and window blinds can make a window look new and help hide worn trim and faulty glass. A cornice board or topper, if done right, will also refresh a window's look. Remember to let the light come in.4) Slip covers can also give a new look. This is a quick way to improve the look of your home and to hide tired and old furniture that still has a good frame or shape. Slipcovers are very popular and will also protect light colored fabrics when pets are present in the home. I recommend picking a neutral color and let your accents and accessories add the punch.5) Add a little light. A new lamp or hanging light will do wonders and shed a little light on the subject, too. The new Edison bulbs look great in certain light fixtures and will get attention from your guests.6) Change positions of your furniture. Pieces can be used in various rooms and switching it up makes it look brand new. Remove pieces that are too large for the room leaving more open space and room to move around. Dressers can look great in an entry hall or living area. Armoires can be repurposed to be a bookshelf or china cabinet.7) Mirrors make a home look bigger. Stategically placed they can add character and interest. Select mirrors of varying shapes and with uniques frames to be focal points.8) Live plants and fresh flowers give a warm and inviting look. Treat yourself every now and then to some fresh flowers or a new houseplant. These bring a room to life.Quick and Easy Refreshers for Your HomeTry all or some of these tips as they will give you a fresh and new look. They also work if you are getting your home ready to sell.
