Sacramento Homes for Sale Under the Median Price

By
Real Estate Agent with Elizabeth Anne Weintraub, Broker DRE #00697006

Nobody quite understands the Sacramento real estate market more than the hard-working Realtors who are out in the trenches every day. We are not your "arm-chair" agents or "soccer mom" agents. We're either in front of our computers or we're in the field talking with our clients, showing homes, taking listings. Our days are filled with real estate activity.

Because we're so busy, we don't always have time to look at the stats and analyze. We know what's going on instinctively but we aren't putting a face on the numbers, making it real. Well, my blog today is real enough. A bit shocking, I might say. It's what you sort of suspected but until you see it in print, it might not hit home.

According to Core Logic, the median housing price in April for Sacramento is $317,000. You can read more in my personal blog today at this link: Where Can You Buy Below Sacramento's Median Housing Price?

Good morning, Elizabeth -- ahh, what a clever approach to show where to find Sacramento area homes under the median price.

Elizabeth, I do am busy, and we can feel some changes with the market with our buyers or sellers.  It is confirmed when looking at the stats.

I would have thought it would be higher than that so it's good it is still affordable. Have a good weekend, Elizabeth.

That $317,000 median price is an increase over a year ago.  There is still a considerable difference among the home values in various Greater Sacramento zipcodes.

It's frightening, Michael Jacobs to see so few homes under that price.

Joan Cox I hear ya, but you know, you have an inkling, and when you look at the numbers, you're right, that suspicion is confirmed.

Myrl Jeffcoat There is not a considerable difference in many ZIP Codes. That's why I broke them down in my personal blog so consumers can see what their dollars will buy, and it's not much. I tell buyers to get used to just adding $100K to whatever they think a home should be worth. Like a 2 / 1 in Midtown Sacramento used to be $299K a few years ago, now it's $399K.

Good morning Elizabeth.  Prices have been going up rapidly in many areas of the country.  Not sustainable for some areas.

Great idea to focus on what a buyer can get in Sacramento below the median price point.
