Dayton Ohio Real Estate team moves to ReMax!

I wanted to let all my AR friends know about the big move we made last week...  We left Keller Williams to join ReMax and are very excited.

I hope to keep all my Keller Williams friends and look forward to building new relationships with all the ReMax pros here...  We are very technology base team that provide cutting edge service that is way beyond what is available otherwise in our market.  Buyers have tools and services that make the home search easy and more quickly find the home they want.  Our goal is to make the buying or selling process as stress free as possible.

  4. Unbelievable marketing tools to add to your home marketing.

The ReMax difference

ReMax is the finest in the real estate industry. So ReMax Ohio agents in general have more experience, training and history of selling Dayton Ohio real estate than the average agent. So, when I was considering a move to a new real estate company the fact that ReMax would offer me the ability to be surrounded by other top producing agents was a big advantage. With other agents being generally less experienced it makes it more difficult to rise to the top…. competition drives success.

We wanted to be surrounded by the finest in the industry and no distractions!

We look forward to working with you all soon when you plan to buy or sell a home… our new tools and company are great!

Congratulations!  Take advantage of everything RE/MAX has to offer.  I especially like RSN and Mainstreet.

Hi Mark,

Congratulations on your move!  I hope it works out extremely well for you.

Good look to you with Remax.  I left KW to move to Coldwell Banker so I know how much time and effort is involved.  All the best!

05/12/2008 01:09 AM by Susie Blackmon NC Realtor, Maggie Valley, Waynesville (COLDWELL BANKER)

thanks guys... I like the technology that remax offers and am looking forward to seeing if leadstreet actually results in anything...

05/12/2008 01:10 AM by Mark Ryan, Broker, CRS, ABR (Mark Ryan Group / Re/Max Victory)

I left Keller Williams also..for RE/MAX

The thing I love is the experienced agents. It is being with the top in our area and the owner has all the WIN WIN that KW lives in TEXAS and is imitated in California.

Good grief! Why did you do that? j/k Congrats on your move to Re/max. It is a fine company and is known worldwide. I was curious how long were you at KW? A friend told me that if you stayed at KW for at least 3 years you have residual income for as long as the people you recruited stayed there.

05/12/2008 01:18 AM by Jim Quinn (Century 21)

Mark:  I actually considered KW before I went to RE/MAX... but after I chatted with them, I just like the concept at RE/MAX.  I have been with ReMax for almost eight years, and have been very pleased with it.  I congratulate you on you move, and wish you all the best.

Leadstreet ROCKS!  Welcome to RE/MAX Mark.  I'm sure you'll find everything you need and more here!

Good luck in your move.  I am fortunate to be with an office that I have had no reason to consider a move.

05/12/2008 03:22 AM by Randy L. Prothero - Hawaii REALTORĀ® (Century 21 Liberty Homes)

Good luck.  It is a great company.  Check out all that Mainstreet has to offer.  Leadstreet rocks.  I love RE/MAX.

05/12/2008 04:22 AM by Miriam Bernstein, CRS, Westchester County, NY (RE/MAX Prime Properties)

Congratulations on your move.  They are both great companies.  It sounds like you made a great move.

05/12/2008 05:47 AM by Russ Ravary - Michigan Homes for sale - Michigan Real estate & Mortgage info (Remerica Hometown One)

You mean you left a residual income?? I didnt see the value either. Im not looking to recruit. Good luck on the move.

Jim,

Funny... That is true about the vesting for profit share.  After 3 years with the company you get the profit share as long as any of your people say with KW... I was with them for about 3 1/2 years so I am vested.  Unfortunately I lost a lot of my people when another office in my market closed with leadership problems and many of them went elsewhere...

05/12/2008 10:22 AM by Mark Ryan, Broker, CRS, ABR (Mark Ryan Group / Re/Max Victory)

Chip,

Funny too... yea I did get some profit and was a part owner that did better as an investment but the profit share did not outweigh the other costs...

Thanks for the good wishes...

05/12/2008 10:25 AM by Mark Ryan, Broker, CRS, ABR (Mark Ryan Group / Re/Max Victory)

Thanks to everyone for the good wishes we are really looking forward to the change.

Well said!  I went to RE/MAX for much the same reason and am very happy.  Congratulations and keep us informed as to how you like it!

05/12/2008 03:39 PM by Lake Norman Real Estate ~ Diane Aurit (RE/MAX at the Lake)

Thanks all...

Got 2 count em 2 leads today... thats equal to the number I got at KW in 3 1/2 years!!!  Dont know if they will convert or not but hey... I paid nothing for them :-)

05/12/2008 09:17 PM by Mark Ryan, Broker, CRS, ABR (Mark Ryan Group / Re/Max Victory)

Best wishes!  Ellen and I left REMAX for a while and returned!  You are in a fantastic company!  All the best.

Mark, Best of luck to you! I hope that everything goes ok with your move.

05/13/2008 12:29 AM by Roberta LaRocca - REALTORĀ® Las Vegas (Keller Williams Realty The Marketplace)

Mark, 2 leads...that is pretty good. Is it from the office?

By the way, funny thing is that an agent in my office just left and went to KW. He said the training there is the best in the industry and that is one reason why he left and headed there. What do you think of the training there. He said it is the best place to start a career in real estate out of all the companies (ie C21, Coldwell Banker, Re/Max, etc) out there. Do you agree with that?

05/16/2008 12:25 AM by Jim Quinn (Century 21)

One of the main negatives of the KW system is this idea of "residuals."  There are agents who concentrate on bringing in as many other agents as possible just to line them up for the possible eventual commission over-rides... residuals... whatever you want to call them.

I know of several KW offices who have ended up with hundreds of agents... the majority of which were brought in by other who were mainly hoping to eventually benefit from residuals.  You end up with a total herd of agents... rather than agents who have joined because of the professional educational and business-growth benefits.

05/16/2008 12:37 AM by Fort Worth Real Estate - - - Karen Anne Stone (RE/MAX Trinity)

Karen Anne: Such sweeping generalizations are very unfair and misleading.  KW's profit sharing can hardly be characterized as a negative... it may not be something that meets your needs or mine, but it does not interfere with anyone's business if they choose not to participate in recruiting.  And for those who do, it provides for a nice additional source of passive income.  It's a WIN-WIN.

I have been a successful KW agent for over 4 years and have NOBODY in my downline.  It is not what I am there for, I am there to sell real estate.  I love the culture, the technology the training and the ability to cap annually and earn 100% commission once I have capped.

Nobody has ever pressed me to recruit and the agents in my Market Center are DEFINITELY there because of the professional, educational and business-growth benefits.  It is what our Market Center thrives on and is growing as a result of in this difficult market.

05/16/2008 01:02 AM by Steve Shatsky - Dallas Real Estate & Short Sale Specialist (Keller Williams-Dallas City Center)

Steve:  Sorry to have my negative impression from stories I have heard from some local KW agents reflect poorly on you and your office.  That was not my intent.  I am truly sorry... and apologize.

05/16/2008 02:00 AM by Fort Worth Real Estate - - - Karen Anne Stone (RE/MAX Trinity)

Karen Anne:  No apologies are necessary... I just wanted to set the record straight.  I feel like I know you from your AR posts and know that you would never write something like that with bad intentions.  You have always impressed me as a person of integrity and professionalism.

We all hear feedback from other agents about what's good and not so good in their offices/companies and while some of it may be valid, some of it may simply be someone who is not in the "right" situation for themselves, or who had a bad personal experience that day and is just venting.  At the end of the day I think that Remax and KW are both good organizations, both with their share of good agents, but with slightly different business models.  I would never try to tell someone why KW or Remax would be right or wrong for them.  I can only speak to why KW is right for me.

05/16/2008 11:36 AM by Steve Shatsky - Dallas Real Estate & Short Sale Specialist (Keller Williams-Dallas City Center)

Good thoughts but I don't think we have to quite so PC... I don't think it is wrong to tell someone why KW or REMAX or any other company would be good or bad... if asked they give your best evaluation of the pros/cons...

You are right, both are good companies and they both have pros / cons... just have to evaluate them and pick what you think would be best for you...

Thanks,

Mark

05/19/2008 12:38 AM by Mark Ryan, Broker, CRS, ABR (Mark Ryan Group / Re/Max Victory)

Steve and Mark:  Perhaps I was just a little "over" in my comments, so I have gone back and somewhat "muted" them.  Take care... both companies are great... and I wish the best to all of their agents.

05/19/2008 12:52 AM by Fort Worth Real Estate - - - Karen Anne Stone (RE/MAX Trinity)

Karen,

I think you do have some valid points... In the offices I know well and from agents I have talked with all across the country the 80/20 rule is alive and well... many agents, not many producers.

I don't know if that is everywhere or not?  My feeling is that it will not be so at REMAX given the fixed monthly cost regardless of production...?

05/19/2008 09:44 AM by Mark Ryan, Broker, CRS, ABR (Mark Ryan Group / Re/Max Victory)

Mark welcome to RE/MAX and we wish you continued success. We love it!

05/22/2008 02:25 AM by Patty & Scott Carroll - RE/MAX, Vancouver WA (RE/MAX Equity Group)

Patty and Scott,

Thanks and maybe we can refer some business someday...

05/23/2008 11:38 PM by Mark Ryan, Broker, CRS, ABR (Mark Ryan Group / Re/Max Victory)

"Competition drives success" ... I like that. Good luck on the move, Mark. You're still the go-to guy in Dayton!

05/24/2008 12:00 AM by John Novak - Las Vegas and Henderson NV Real Estate (Keller Williams Realty The Marketplace)

Thanks John!

Always like to push myself... surround myself with high tallent and that shoud drive me was my thinking...  My goal is to increase over last year by 50%... about what we did last year.

How are things in Vegas?  We are doing a ton of short sales... you too?
