Displaying The American Flag on Memorial Day
This is the Memorial Day Weekend and some say the start of the summer. If it is your tradition to display your American Flag on National Holidays such as this, then you may want to know the proper protocol associated with displaying the flag.
The flag etiquette is more detailed than most of us know. It goes much deeper than not letting it drag the ground or leaving out in the rain. When displaying the American Flag on Memorial Day there are special display instructions used just on this day.

Memorial Day is the only Flag Display Date that has these special instructions. Your American Flag is to be displayed at half staff until noon then raised to full display position the rest of the day. There are other rules to use with the flag including how to dispose of a flag when it is tattered and worn. It is a symbol of our freedoms and those that have fought hard to win and keep them for us.
Displaying Your Flag on Memorial Day has a special meaning with its two positions. Half staff honors our fallen heroes and full staff is for those that remain with us.
