Want an email or domain with your first and last name?

I was up late  (as I usually am) reading blogs and looking at sites, and I happened to come upon this little gem.

If you would like an email address and domain with your unique first and last name, go to this link http://www.netidentity.com/ where you can get your own name-based domain, email address, blog, etc. with your first and last name. The email address I wanted (denise@odell.com) was already taken, but they do offer other alternatives if the one you want isn't available.

Godaddy.com is another great place to get your domain name.  Usually reasonably cheap

That looks like a pretty good site.  I use godaddy.com.  They are great.  Their support group is really good.  Very simple and talk in English not computer language.  You get a person on the phone quickly and they are not in India.

Thanks for the tip!  I am always looking for new vendors.  GoDaddy is the one I use most now but I am off to check this one out as well!

I like google's Gmail because it is perfect for notary/loan signers.

1. It's free

2. Has enough space that you never have to delete an email message the rest of your life

3. Their search feature is fabulous as you can put in the "Miller documents" and it will  bring up any email you have that has the word "Miller."

4. You can open all pdf attachments at 1 time; this doesn't mean they all open at one time but after you download all the attachments all you have to do is click on each attachment and they instantly open.

Fabulous email address, particularly for loan signers.

Just a warning and heads up from a former Netidentity user (catching your thread on google blog scan). After Netidentity was bought by Tucows some years back, their services have deteriorated significantly. They have had long periods where e-mail has been unavailable during service changes and just for unclear reasons.

It caused huge frustration with long standing customers and very unsatisfactory responses from Netidentity/Tucows support. Checkout some comments at:

http://tucowed.blogspot.com

If you want to use one of their addresses you should configure it with an automatic forward to Gmail or similar in order to not depend on them for access to your e-mail.

Registering your own domain (with eg. godaddy as some mention) and setting up with Google Apps will most likely be a better, and clearly cheaper solution. google apps is found at www.google.com/a  and is free to use and only serves advertising to you in the e-mail view window.

cheers,

Thanks for the heads up kjell.  I found the www.netidentity.com site from another blog that had a link within a link and found it that way.  I never heard of google apps.  I will check that out and I've used godaddy.com and whois.com as well.

Thanks for all the comments!
