I thought I'd share some photos taken at Maples Nursing Home of my mother with a smile on her face with Caleb. Whenever Gladys sees Caleb her whole mental state changes.
My mother's dementia is progressing rapidly. She doesn't know who anyone is, but she knows we are all familiar faces to her. She knows we're all family.
I thought I'd get a close up shot of Gladys. It's amazing how perfect her skin is at her age. She'll be 95 on Dec 1.... and not a wrinkle on her face!!!

How blessed you are. Four generations enjoying each other's company. Gladys has a beautiful smile. I hope she wears it often.

Maggie Dokic we're 5 generations.... my mother is a great great grandmother....I'm the great grandmother...my daughter, Tammy, is the grandmother....Britt is the mother...and then there's Caleb!!! That's a big mouthful....
Oh my, even better! I knew a family that had 5 generations and the matriarch lived to be 102. It was always something I aspired to have - many generations around! But mom's health is failing and I waited to start having kids. Something my girls are also doing. I'm not complaining. I love my 3 generations and look forward to a grandchild in the hopefully not too distant future. Be well!

ps..I am believing that mom dementia will no longer progress rapidly...My husband's mom just passed this January with dementia at the age of 85 but I am believing your mom will go over the 100 marker.....

Karen.... I hope that's the case.... she's in no pain except after a fall.... never breaks bones... bruises muscles....she's very strong for her age....
thank you, Maggie Dokic .... all of us began "early".... I was married the year I graduated from college.... just a kid.... taught for 2 years and had a baby!! quick moving..
LOL Barbara. My mom did too. She was 22 when she had me and I'm the 2nd one!

My Mother had the same ailment in the last years of her life and it really ripped my heart out each time I went to see her Barbara Todaro. It seems that pets and children have the same effect on loved ones with dementia
