Old Dutch Village Garden Club - Plant And Bake Sale May 16th in Red Hook

Time once again for the annual Old Dutch Village Garden Club plant sale.

Many local residents look forward to this event to kick start their garden.  I know this for a fact because people are usually waiting to buy plants before the sale starts.  I have also received several requests  to provide a reminder.

Where do these plants come from?  These plants come from the gardens of the members of the club.

In addition to the plant sale there will also be a bake sale.

The club members are instrumental in keeping the parks in town beautified and they also provide a scholarship to a  Red Hook High School graduate annually.

Jennifer, this sounds like a nice event.  My own garden could use a kick start.  Beautiful photos.

Why do I always read posts about food when I'm hungry?  That bake sale is sounding pretty good right about now!  And your photos are beautiful.

Jennifer now that is one event that both me and my wife would enjoy.  She would be into the flowers and me into the food :)

This is my favorite kind of sale - plants and baked goods. Hope you have a good turn out.

Jennifer, I can almost smell the flowers; I would love to be there and wish I could.  I did get a lovely plant for mother's day but could use some gorgeous flowers!

Brian - It is truly a big hit, the key is to get there early.

Pat - I am sorry, you would love this event these ladies know how to bake.  The photos came from my own garden.

George- That's the way events should be planned, something for everyone.

Carol - My perenials are doing great, I usually don't but in annuals before memorial day weekend, learned my lesson the hard way.

Cyndee - So far so good, I just have to deal with the rabbits and deers.

Ray - That  is correct.

Gita - It will be a big hit.

Anthony - Right now I am sitting outside with my laptop-  I love this time of year

Kim - I have already forgotten about  winter.

Patrice - If you do, try tomake it early

Carole - As much as I love gardening I can't smell the flowers due to allergies.  I am sure you will have some plant sales in your area and you will have a lovely garden.
