MANGO MANIA

Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa’s new culinary experience is the perfect Father’s Day gift. Since the June holiday occurs during peak mango season, chef Manlee Siu decided to share one of her most prized produce sources through a new farm tour and picnic package. First, she takes groups to the nearby Truly Tropical, a.k.a. the Mango Place due to the family-owned farm’s 70 varieties of its signature fruit. After wandering the grove to harvest and sample exotic mangos, as well as explore other tropical delights including cinnamon, black sapote and jackfruit, guests are invited to a decadent homemade picnic prepared by Siu back at the hotel. The gourmet casual luncheon is set up in an oceanfront cabana with mango margaritas and mango dishes from salsa to quinoa salad.

Sample bites and sips from restaurants like Talavera and Copper 29 and listen to live music. The new owners of Miami Fashion Week present eight runway shows at Ice Palace Film Studios (59 NW 14th Street) through June 4. After participating in European fashion weeks, Colombian designer Silvia Tcherassi opens the event tonight at 7 (pictured). Angel Sanchez, a New York bridal and evening wear designer whose mother had a Venezuelan atelier, closes the week on Sunday night. Organizers also partner with Miami Dade College for a Master Class Series, and actor Antonio Banderas and Latin American singer Diego Torres to host a benefit gala on Friday.

AW-SHUCKS

Not to be confused with Ella café in the Miami Design District and the River Seafood Oyster Bar in Brickell, Ella’s Oyster Bar opened in Little Havana. Its Miami meets marine décor centers on a large mural of a mythological kraken intertwined with graffiti. The adorable blue and white setting with exposed brick beckons oyster platters and lobster roll lunches. Some items reference the neighborhood’s heritage, such as po’ boys served on Cuban bread and crab-stuffed croquettas to dip in hollandaise mixed with Old Bay Seasoning. A Cubana comes with lump crab meat instead; chorizo supplies the famous sandwich’s pork component for a different take on surf n’ turf. Oysters Rockefeller, which originated in New Orleans, is upgraded with uni butter and panko breadcrumbs. Finish with the cobbler du jour.
