Where Does an Agent Find Relocation Business ?

By
Real Estate Agent with EXP Realty 414-525-0563 57026-90 Broker

Relocation to many agents looks like the easy way to be handed business...whether it is listing or buying...and we sometimes see that this is an area explored by new agents or agents who don't quite understand what may well be expected of tMoving Vanhem.  Instant business...just say WOW...like sitting at the front desk on floor time and waiting for the magnet of buyers and sellers to magically be attracted to your phone...the same is expected as the manager or the relocation department hanRose colored glassesds out people who are, by necessity, all ready to either buy or sell.  It is, we see the rose colored glass view of being handed a bouquet of business opportunity without having to do anything other than exist and wait for the phone to ring.

Like any good agent who is approaching a niche in their business...learn where it comes from and how you can approach that niche.   For example...if you work for a larger brokerage you may well find that there are groups on Facebook that are specifically Facebook logoformed to exchange leads within the brokerage. There are some that are none "broker specific" and you may well join those to find leads for transferring buyers and sellers in your area.  As you become betMoving boxester known and agents in these groups recognize you...they become your raving fans and will let you know of the opportunity and others know of their good experience in referring you to them as an agent.

You may work for a brokerage that has a Relocation Department that may or may not require you to take an in house course in relocation before becoming part of the list of agents who receives leads for this kind of business.

You may have....or want to earn a certification or designation that has as a part of its model,  a built in referral network.

Activerain  You may want to include in every profile you have throughout the internet that you are a relocation specialist. (Don't go there  just like any other specialty unless you have had the experience and training.)  This would but of course include Active Rain.  Write a post or two or three about how you moved or welcomed a transferring buyer and what you did to make them feel at home.help wanted

You may approach companies in your area who hire people with very specific experience and draw their workforce fom outside the area. Likely they will use a relocation company.....either way an inquiry can lead to yet another possible source of relocating clients.

Finding the sources is just the very tip of the iceberg in adding relocation as a nich in your real estate business. Having the tools and resources, experience and desire are a whole different post ! There is lots more to this ineresting niche....finding the sources is the very beginning.

If you or anyone you know is looking for agents who have had successful experience to OR from southeastern Wisconsin in the counties of Kenosha, Racine, Walworth, Milwaukee, Waukesha, Ozaukee, Washington or Jefferson counites...Call the Hansons, we are honored to be of service for all things real estate.

Good morning Sally.  When I first started (2008) relocation and foreclosures were a hot topic.  Never got into it, I'm so grateful I didn't.

Good morning Sally K. & David L. Hanson ,

Relocation is definitely a niche in your real estate business and its wise to understand your sources. In our Brokerage we have to become certified to accept leads that are directed to us or just come in. I can see why having the tools to help clients are important and when a Relocation Company is involved the paper work and reports are endless!!
