Here are some tips on how to save money on your water bill -

Do you know how the average water is used in an average household?

Toilet - 24.5%

Shower - 21.3%

Clothes Washer - 18.6%

Faucet - 16%

Leak - 9.8%

Other - 6.1%

Bathtub - 2.1%

Dishwasher - 1.6%

It is no wonder some Water Departments are offering a rebate to change out the old toilets for the new 1.0 gallon flush toilets!

Here are some tips on how to save money on your water bill -

~ Instead of filling the tub all the way, fill it a 1/4 of the way

~ When you shave, instead of letting the water run, fill the sink basin.

~ When you shower, instead of showering for 10 minutes, reduce it to 7.5 minutes (with a standard shower-head).

~ When you brush your teeth, instead of leaving the water on, turn it off.

Change out any old toilets - the old ones use as much as 5.0 gallons per flush

Yearly savings - up to $96

Change out any old shower-heads to low-flow

Yearly savings - up to $28

Check to see if your Water Department offers a free indoor water assessment.     How about toilet rebates for changing out the old ones?     Do they offer low-income water efficiency programs?

Some Water Departments offer free landscape designs and rebates for water-wise designs.    Check to see if they offer sprinkler system assessments and rebates.    With new and improved sprinkler systems, you can customize your sprinkler system to the weather stations and only water when needed.

Water is a natural resource we have to try and conserve whenever we can!

Everything in my house conserves water. I do like a long shower though so I am an abuser from time to time.
