Before I got up this morning while my phone was still on do not disturb it was blowing up. I woke up to more than 50 missed calls and text messages, none of which had anything to do with real estate. All those voice mails and texts were asking me if my husband was okay. I turned on the news and about that same time my daughter called to ask where my Donald was.
This morning at 6:45 just a few miles from my house two of my husband's co-workers were murdered by two GA inmates that have escaped.
Christopher Monica, and Curtis Billue were brutally gunned down on the bus they were transporting inmates on. One week ago my Donald was driving that bus along that road with it full of inmates.
The first thing I did was try to call him. He didn't answer. Of course I tried his personal phone a number of times before my frantic mind remembered that sometimes his work phone is left on a bus when he is inside a facility. He thankfully answered his work phone.
Then my heart began to ache for the wife, the child, the brother, the father, the sister that were getting early morning knocks on their doors to inform them that their loved ones won't be coming home.
I respectfully ask for you to pray for Officer Monica and Officer Billue's families. Not only their blood relatives, but their work family as well. On numerous occasions Donald has worked with both of these men. He saw them nearly all work days. They are family. When you work a 10 plus hour day and you are literally putting your life on the line for public safety and having each others' back you get to know that person well.
I'm not going to post the criminals faces here. I'm just not. But if you live anywhere in the southeast I highly recommend you get a good look at them and stay on high alert. They obviously know their fate if they are captured and have nothing to lose in adding more murders to their list of crimes. The story on our nearest news station 13wmaz can be found here.
