Saturday Smiles: Santa Barbara Farmers Market Colors!

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Napa Consultants

It is Grads and Dads Weekend here in Santa Barbara.  The Freeway heading North is bumper to bumper because of the staggered graduation ceremonies that are taking place at UCSB (University of California Santa Barbara).  The Santa Barbara Farmers Market was also crowded.  Above us at the market these trees (pictured above) with yellow flowers are blooming.

These lovely greenish egg shaped tomatoes greeted us as we entered the market.  They are very sweet.

And then, there were these lovely egg shaped little tomatoes in bright colors.

This display of fennel, eggplant and sweet potatoes was definitely photogenic.

Tutti's Farms brought in a new batch of artichokes, just as we arrived.

And our Asian market did not disappoint with this display of Chinese long beans.

Congratulations to all the new graduates, may you live long and prosper!

Wishing you all an abundance of Saturday Smiles!

Kathy Streib you must be psychic.  I did plan a mozzarella and basil salad with these tomatoes.  We add a bunch of arugula, and pistachio oil and pistachios on top.  It makes for a great lunch.  A

Ron and Alexandra Seigel, I always enjoy shopping with you at the Santa Barbara Farmers Market. Something new to me - the Chinese long beans. I will check our markets here. I could almost feel myself reaching for a handful of those little red tomatoes :)

All those tomatoes and other produce looks so vibrant and healthy, Alexandra.  I planted 8 different kinds of tomato plants this year, as well as yellow straight neck squash and zucchini.  They started producing last week.

Good morning A.  No surprise, as I have never seen one of those tomatoes like the first one you showed us .  A new lesson learned.

Thanks for sharing the bounty. We just need a return of hot weather and our garden should pop. We're getting blossoms on the tomatoes, but no fruit yet - it's still mostly cool and wet. Not tomato growing season. :(
