Thankfully, many agents embrace the concept of home staging. Yet, I house for salestill meet some who aren’t quite sure if staging will work for their area.

Some want to wait, along with their sellers, to see what happens. And some only think staging is for vacant homes or homes of a certain list price.

 

But think about this...being the agent in your area who insists that their listings meet a certain showing standard can work in your favor.

 

6 Reasons why you might want to consider staging your listings!

1.Can help to get your listing sold in a shorter amount of time.

All things being equal, a property that is in excellent showing condition will move to the top of the “I want it.” list.

2.Can help the perceived value of the property and get a higher offer

Buyers need to see the value in what they buy and that’s certainly true for homes. A home that has been cleaned, repaired, and updated helps buyers see its value.

Knowing that your homes always show well means that other agents will not hesitate to schedule a showing appointment.

When we were looking for our own home years ago, I was totally impressed with the agent who seemed to have most of the listings we saw. Every home showed well.  I kept her name handy!

 

5.Makes you stand out to others in the profession such as lenders, home inspectors, contractors,and photographers.

We all talk and love to share information about others in our industry or related! And we use that information when getting referrals.

 

6.Shows your sellers that you know what you’re doing!

Too many times I’ve met sellers whose homes languished on the market, and no, their agent never mentioned staging.

Make them happy that you are the one they chose to help them sell their home!

Yes, there are agents who still don't see the value of the service, or think they can do it themselves. I've had many consults with sellers who weren't happy with their agent's lack of staging knowledge.

Oh, this is a big pet peeve of mine too - I just do not understand why agents say, "Well, this doesn't work in my area!"  Sorry, that's just not true! I keep my stagers hopping, Kathy, and it pays off in dividends in the end when my sellers sell their homes at or above list price!!

Kathy it's beyond my comprehension  why agents would not prepare the clients properly to gain the most profit possible from the sale of their home - and staging is a one of the incredibly necessary components.  Great post! A must read for all real estate agents!
