In June of 2017, RealtyTrac reported nationwide there were 647,078 properties scheduled for foreclosure filings, default notices, auctions, and bank repossessions in May of 2017 gained 5.0% from April of 2017, but declined 19.0% from May of 2016. One in every 1,620 housing units was in foreclosure, and State of New Jersey had the most with one in every 512 housing units in foreclosure in May of 2017. While 32.0% were pre foreclosures, 34.8% were auctions, and 33.2% were REOs in May of 2017.

Pre-foreclosures rose 3.1% in May of 2017, from April of 2017, but down 7.5% from May of 2016; Auctions increased 8.5% in May of 2017, from April of 2017, but fell 26.6% from May of 2016; REOs were higher 4.2% in May of 2017, from April of 2017, but decreased 20.4% from May of 2016.

I looked up reo and short sale properties in my market last night and there were so few. I knew there weren't many but I was surprised at how low the numbers were.-Kasey

Kasey & John Boles Distress properties are very low almost everywhere. But up 5.0% from previous month. Thanks for the comment.
