It's Summer, so . . . .

It's Summer, so . . . .

Yes, it is summer.  On June 21st the Sun was directly over the Tropic of Cancer and we experienced the longest day of the year.

Although, near me, a storm sneaked in to ruin the full length of the experience.

So what does it mean?

It's summer, so things will be heating up, even though, oddly, the days will be getting shorter.

If you missed the traditional  spring time real estate rush, it's okay, because the real estate market is still heating up along with the weather.

Interest rates are low making affordability high and inventory is low making prices rise.

At the moment, it works well for buyers and sellers.

With low interest rates buyers can afford today's prices.

With inventory low, sellers can get their price.

But, remember just like the days, which are getting shorter, a hot market does not stay hot forever.

Eventually, interest rates will rise and, eventually, more homes will come on the market.

You can wait until Fall, when things begin to die, or you can strike now while things are hot.

The real estate market will go through its cycles just like the world will go through its seasons.

Ron,

How's the market in New Zealand?  I could go back and forth with the seasons . . . or follow the sun

It seems so odd that 2017 is passing so swiftly that we are already past summer solstice, and the days are getting shorter.

This is a super hot summer in NC and inventory is low - my normal clients who move to upsize, downsize, right size are staying put for now...prices are rising  as well so a smaller home cost as much as their current homes
