Where is Tanglewood Located?
Tanglewood is about 3 miles from the ocean, off Carlsbad Village Drive, east of the main thoroughfare, El Camino Real, and less than a mile south of the 78 freeway. San Diego is about 30 miles or so to the south.
Why do People Live in Tanglewood?
Tanglewood appeals to people for a number of reasons. Certainly affordability is one of them, given the overall prices in Carlsbad. Some of the better pricing for condos will be found here, relative to some other areas, and the size means there are often several options available, despite Carlsbad’s overall limited inventory. The community is ideally located near abundant shopping and dining, and major commuting routes (the 5 and 78 freeways). Because of pricing Tanglewood works well for first time home buyers, but also appeals to investors due to being a popular rental community.
What’s it Like to Live in the Tanglewood Neighborhood in Carlsbad?
Everything you likely need in terms of recreation, services, shopping (groceries at Sprouts and Vons is right down the street) and dining will be found in and around the neighborhood with a major shopping area less than a mile to the north and the Shoppes at Carlsbad Mall. Major big box stores are also close by in Oceanside along Vista Way along with multiple strip malls.
The community offers 2 pools, spas, tennis courts, a clubhouse, basketball and plentiful green-space.
Tanglewood was built in the late 1970s and1980s, with almost 500 condos in numerous buildings along the main road and multiple side streets. Homes have detached garages, private and fenced outdoor space between the unit and the garage, with laundry hookups in the garage. Homes offer 2 to 4 bedrooms, 1 and ½ to 2 and ½ baths, and there are both single and 2-story models. Living ranges from approximately 912 SF up to 1718 SF.
What’s Going on Near Tanglewood in Carlsbad?
Residents at Tanglewood have easy access to other amenities and services in the area, and are within about 3 miles of Carlsbad Village and the beaches. Legoland and the Museum of Making Music are within several miles to the south.
