Hey Everyone,

New law coming up today for California Landlords!!

Bedbugs!

As of July 1, we need to give a notice to all new tenants which must include the following:

What Bed Bugs look lie

Life Cyle and REproduction of the critters

Bed Bug bites

Common Signs and symptoms of bed bug infestation

The procedure the tenant must follow to report a suspected infectation to the landlord

and if an infestation has actually happened, all tenants in and around that unit must be notified with written notice within 2 days.

These are pesky bugs that can come in from hotel stays, traveling, etc. THey really needs professional treatment to eradicate.

So if you are in California, review your leases (all tenants needs this disclosure as of 1/1/18, but any new tenants from 7/1/2017 should have it now.

One of my favorite clients on the east coast owns a pest management company and they specialize in bed bugs. They use canines to detect them, and it's amazing where these things are found. They're everywhere, from top notch resort hotels to SFRs. I'm always looking for signs at hotels where I stay.

Christine Kankowski North SD and Temecula - Now this is a topic that bugs me! It's a good one. I say - erradicate them once and for all! It's wonderful to know California is taking action and I hope Landlords win the war against bugs that at least they have some control over and not hackers!

We had a bed bug scare and you don't easily recover from it. It's a horrible thing to experience, and ours was just a scare....caught very early with very little damage done. I can't stress enough what a nightmare it can be.
