In life, we have many inspirations, and some are relegated to our personal lives and some are relegated to our professional lives.  When blogging, I usually try to keep my personal life experiences to a minimum because after all, this is a real estate school blog.  When thinking about inspiration from a professional point of view, it’s easy to figure out what inspires me, and I would love to share that with you!

Having entered the real estate industry as a single mother of two small girls, no child support, 32 years old and living in a city where I knew only one Uncle and a couple of cousins down the road in the next town, I feared failure.  I tried not to look back, but to continue to move forward and to provide a decent life for my girls.  I did well in my real estate career, not as well as a mother, and I learned much about myself during those years.  Just like you, I made some good choices and some not-so-good choices, and over the years I’ve had to make peace with my past and those choices that should not have been made.

As I’ve aged, I’ve felt a stirring to take what I’ve learned and to pass it on.  Unfortunately, my girls don’t really need or want what I’ve learned about life, so I find my inspiration has been in the form of real estate instruction.  My inspiration is to see a student succeed, to spare a student some of the disappointments I’ve seen in my own real estate career, and to share some of the awesome success I’ve experienced.

Simply put, my inspiration is you.  As you grow in your real estate career, you will experience many of the same things we all experience as real estate licensees, and there will be times you will want to throw in the towel.  Don’t do it.  Joy comes in the morning, and things look so much better the next day.  You can do this!  It takes a lot more “no” answers, before you will find a “yes” answer, and just because someone rejects what you are offering and says no, it doesn’t mean it’s a solid no.  The art of selling doesn’t come naturally to everyone, and people need to be trained and to be inspired to overcome rejections and to learn how to ask again and again for the “close.”

Having a real estate license does not ensure you success in a real estate career.  You must find your inspiration and you must find someone willing to share their inspiration.  You cannot do it on your own!  You must learn from others.  TEAM Hughes Real Estate School is about inspiring its students to getting their real estate license and to using their real estate license to help others.  We want to transfer our knowledge to our students so that their journey to success may be easier and quicker.  Come join us in your journey toward a real estate career.  We’d love to help!
