Wordless Wednesday - He's BAA-ACK!

No matter how many deer, ground squirrels, ducks or even coyotes grace my path (most of which I saw today!), I NEVER get tired of the beauty that they offer. Today, I heard a baby Mallard Duck sound (in distress, as I pay attention to bird sounds) and went out to our creek and was absolutely delighted to see that the Mallard Duck couple that come to eat my birdseed on our deck (just started to this spring) actually have 3 babies! Who knew? I felt like a proud mom myself! (Even took videos).

OMG love it Debe, it has been over 10+ years when Diane and I were driving to Chalone Winery... and a family like that followed us along the road.... needless to say when we got back to the hotel and one of the Michelin rated Restaurants (Pacific Edge) had a special on Venison, Diane and I looked at each other and I had not had Venison since then and did not have it that evening either....Endre

Good morning Debe.  Just looking for an evening snack before he beds down for the night.

That's a cute looking neighbor you have there, Debe!  I rarely see deer at my house.  However, within a couple blocks on the American River Parkway there is quite a population of them.

Now Debe! I am so surprised that you don't have a self-opening gate installed to accommodate these deer. Just think, they would love to prune your flowers!

Debe, that would be very cool, and some of our neighborhoods have frequent visitors too.   Beautiful flowers! 

I have a few of them in my neighborhood, too. I love it in the morning when I have to wait for them to meander across the road... I just chuckle to myself and think "Traffic Jam again this morning"

He looks hungry so I think the fence is a good idea if you want to keep your blooms.

Debe-I used to have them all the time in my back yard in my home in NY and that too was in the city. Now he is probably staring at all those pretty flowers wanting to munch on them instead of the apples.

Looks like he wants a hug!  Such a cool picture, it would be a fun visitor to see every now and then.

We do a lot of gardening too at our household, but it's in the form of fruits and veggies.  We just implemented an all family 15 minute weeding time right after dinner every night (including the 4 & 6 year old).  Anybody can weed for 15 minutes a day and with 4 hands that's like an hour of work!  I have to get out and pick spinach, lettuce and kale today before it all goes bad...-Kasey

Debe I don't know but I think he is considering having those flowers as desert after the apples :)

A sight like that would steal my heart! I'm a deer lover and seeing that beautiful creature enjoying the flowers is even more special! Talk about a deer in the headlights look!
