Goals.   We need to set foth goals in order to keep on point.

Goals…the word for the day! We all need them; most have them; some write them down; others carry them with them and the select few have none.

However, having said all of that, I’ll share my thoughts on the topic of goals in the workplace. It’s a very small percentage of real estate agents who actually have them and strive every day to satisfy their goals.

Real estate agent write their goals because they’re asked the question, “do you have written goals.”  Their answer is “yes.”  That answer and $3.30 will pay for my large cappuccino with skim milk and 4 Splenda tomorrow morning.

If there is not a game plan and a road map in existence to meet those goals, it amounts to nothing more than an exercise in writing. It’s a motion with nothing resulting. The business plan and the goals go hand in hand.

How will you achieve those goals? What will you need to do every day that will contribute to moving one step closer to satisfy the first stage of accomplishing those goals?

To have goals and not understand how to attain them, is useless. To clearly understand how to attain them, but never put that effort into starting that task, is worse. What’s the bottom line here?

Goals are needed; a plan of attack to achieve them is necessary; and the desire and hunger for accomplishing them is essential. Good intentions are never enough.  Good intentions equate to a New Year’s Resolution.  Good intentions that fizzle out quickly is the name of that game.

Hunger and a relentless desire to go above and beyond what was written does not describe the “typical real estate agent.”  Let’s call it as it is.

This is the reason for only 10% of real estate agents are doing 90% of the business.  Those are the percentages that I’ve observed in my marketplace.

One either has the desire and the fire in his/her belly or it is business as it falls from the sky.

Just sharing my thoughts, after reading a post by Grant Schneider titled GOOD INTENTIONS ARE NOT ENOUGH TO GET IT DONE….
