A Del.icio.us Way Communicate with Clients

By

deI have been hearing about Del.icio.us and wasn't sure what it was. I recently started using it to help catalog interesting articles that I may write about and it's been very useful. I wanted to send a reminder to the Active Rain community about this tool.

There are great previous blog posts about it from other ActiveRainers. Justin Smith wrote about how to add bookmarks to your blog posts as well as using other online bookmarketing services. I use Del.icio.us for further interaction with my friends and blog readers.

TOP REASONS TO USE ONLINE BOOKMARKING (Del.icio.us)

  1. Never lose your bookmarks again.
  2. Access your favorite links from any computer, anywhere.
  3. Get more organized. You can catalog bookmarks by creating tags.
  4. Friends can subscribe to your bookmarks. You can allow friends, clients, and other readers with similar interests to access your bookmarks. It's a good way to share your interests.
  5. You can subscribe to bookmarks from others. If you find that you like the stories another reader finds, you can subscribe to their bookmark list. This is a good way for prospects to get to know you and what you find important. It also sets you apart.
  6. Get access to top articles other people are bookmarking. This is a great way to find interesting articles without having to look through your normal news channels or news aggregators.
  7. Publicize your own articles. Set up a feed from Del.icio.us to your site. The more people who tag your article, the more popular it is.

ProBlogger had a good article on how to get to the top of the Del.icio.us site, but these tips can be used anywhere. Read 7 Ways to get to the top of Del.icio.us. Read the Wiki for more information.

Hi Dee,

I just added you to my del.icio.us network. I was working on a follow up to a post I wrote earlier today about the participation ladder and was again reminded that Del.icio.us is still one of my favorite web2 tools.

Keep up the great work.
