Bellaire is sometimes known as the “City of Homes” due to its expansive neighborhood communities. Interestingly, Bellaire is actually a city apart from Houston. Addresses in this area are not labeled as Houston, TX, but as Bellaire, TX, even though this area is one of the most centrally located areas in the Houston city limits.

Although the area is mainly residential, residents can find businesses and different organizations along Bellaire Boulevard, which cuts through the city. There are also quite a few parks in the area including Bellaire Zindler Park, Evergreen Park, and Jacquet Park. You’ll find various little league games in these parks during season.

Children who live in Bellaire are either zoned to Paul W. Horn Academy, Al J. Condit, or Lovett Elementary, Pershing Middle School, and Bellaire High School. Some Bellaire students may be eligible to attend Pin Oak Middle School, which is located right next to Episcopal High School.

Since Bellaire is technically its own city, the area has its own library, city hall and fire stations. There are also newspapers like the Bellaire Examiner and The Bellaire Buzz that are available for residents, although many get the Houston Chronicle as well.
