It's been Hot in Spokane which means it is perfect lake weather.
As a lucky property owner on nearby Lake Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, I am partial to all this grand and scenic lake has to offer. The usual - swimming, boating, fishing, lake cruises, windsurfing, paddle boarding, waterskiing, sailing, and the list goes on. These activities create great photo ops and wonderful summer memories.
Spokane is surrounded by many beautiful lakes of varying sizes and "going to the lake" is a popular activity. Which lake? Pick any one of them, "going to the lake" is common vernacular in this town and according to VISIT SPOKANE there are 76 regional lakes.
Between June and September the average surface water temperature of Lake Coeur d'Alene is 68 degrees. Stormy weather stirs it up then calm warm weather heats it up so I always "put my toe in the water" to test just how refreshing it is before diving in. I'm here to tell you it gets better each day the temperature soars.
With summer in full swing in Spokane and hot sunny days in abundance it is easy to forget our other season. And if it seems too hot, just pause for a moment to contemplate January's weather. No complaints from me when the temperature soars.
To embrace life in the beautiful Pacific Northwest is to enjoy all four seasons - the hot ones and the cold ones. Spokane is a great place to live with enormous opportunity to enjoy all kinds of outdoor activities year round.
