The world hates change,

yet it is the only thing that has brought progress.

-Charles Kettering

Many times I read the Quote of the Day on my sidebar widget and find inspiration, as was the case today!

As part of the Thornton Team at Home America Mortgage, I recently relocated to Knoxville, Tennessee from the metro-Atlanta area. The reason for this move has been to give a physical presence for Home America Mortgage in Tennessee. While we have been licensed in Tennessee for quite awhile, we felt that the opportunity to grow our business while increasing the visibility of Home America Mortgage in this market was invaluable.

The move for me was a homecoming of sorts. Though born in Connecticut, I was raised in Memphis and have twice called Knoxville home. I have family in both Knoxville and Chattanooga so the transition is somewhat easier. The beautiful and majestic Great Smokey Mountains are very nearby so there are many places to get back to nature and re-center oneself when needed. Here is a photo I took while enjoying the fall colors of the Great Smokey Mountains National Park back in 2000! I haven't lived in Tennessee since 2001, but I am excited about getting reacquainted! As soon as I find my camera (yep, there are still boxes to be unpacked) I plan on taking some pictures of my new diggs!

Brande - Thanks for your positive words of encouragement! Now where is that camera!

Joan - Signal Mountain is just outside Chattanooga. That is about two hours south of here; very near the Georgia border! I have family in Chattanooga and plan on visiting often! Chattanooga is a beautiful small city that has worked extensively to resotre its downtown and preserve its history!
