My physical presence in Hawaii while I work on Sacramento real estate these past two weeks has been helpful in dealing with what would be deemed difficult circumstances if I were not in Hawaii. There is a calmness that supercedes some of the craziness and keeps my perspective in check.
For example, when I ask a buyer's agent over and over to send the contingency releases and I receive no response or, worse, l get a whine: why is that even necessary, I don't lose my cool. 😎 I've come to anticipate that people are the sum total of their experiences. Yesterday, an agent said her clients were spending a lot of money to buy this house (aren't they all??) and therefore she believed the sellers should clean out the damn gutters. When I delivered the message that my sellers are not cleaning the gutters, she called me "mean."
I gaze out at the white sail boats on the ocean and shrug. You can read more in my personal blog today at this link: The Custom of Removing Your Shoes in Hawaii and Bureaucracy.
