Publicity, hopefully good, is the way to stay the Top Dog of Real Estate in your area (I am assuming, of course, that you are knowledgeable, trustworthy, and the million of other things that one often sees in Bios that should go without saying and please do not mention "Goes the extra mile", Top Producer, etc, to me).
I have just seen an excellent example of the publicity ball rolling in the past few days and thought it worth sharing in this challenging market where one extra client can make all the difference. I was approached, as President of The Pet Realty Network, a few weeks ago by The Orlando Sentinel for an interview about Pet Friendly Orlando. Of course, I was thrilled but as our goal is to promote our Members and add to our rapidly growing In the News page my first call was to Marc Grossman (Keller Williams, Active Rain and most importantly Pet Friendly and that is not to say that Keller Williams and Active Rain are not important). Marc took the time to speak to the journalist and this Sunday her article was published in The Orlando Sentinel. Now this is where Marc became creative and a master of free publicity. Not only did he blog about Pet Friendly on Active Rain but also on his own Blog and then submitted the information as an article to news organizations. Molly at The Pet Realty Network decided to help with the publicity and added the information about the original article, then about Marc and then about Marc using his publicity to get more publicity on Your Pet Friendly Community - and within a few hours (thank you so much Google) the word had spread across the Internet.
The reason I am sharing this with you, Pet Friendly people or not, is that it is a very useful tale (no pun intended) about how to get noticed in this "Dog Eat Dog" world of Real Estate. I am certain Marc is already sharing this with his Clients, Potential Clients, the Pet Friendly people at the dog park and pet services companies in the Orlando area. Definitely publicity to Woof about!
Rhona, Thank you so very much for the mention and also giving the author my name. You are obviously very kind and gracious. Thanks again!
