Check out Scranton's good news from Money Magazine

What can it be???Oppenheim Building

Maybe it is because Scranton is home to The Office.

Maybe it is because the cost of living is relatively cheap.

Maybe it is because of our many universities.

Maybe it is because Scranton residents aren't buying in to the national media's negative outlook on real estate. I bet this wonderful news will barely make the media spotlight. That is why I feel compelled to share it with all of you.

If you live in Scranton or the surrounding areas, now is the time to buy and sell. The market is doing great. Homes are affordable and people are buying them.

Hey Todd, My gut feeling is it has to be "The Office". It's the best TV show to me.

You beat me to it.  Good job!  I heard this on the radio and was about to blog about it until I saw yours.

The downtown looks great and the new medical school that's coming has something to do with it.  The homes are affordable and investors have helped by sprucing up the dilapidated old homes and neighborhoods.  Plus, it's just a great place to live!

Todd,

I owned a few properties when my daughter went to Marywood....she graduated last year and so did I from my properties.

I think it is a good area and know it made sense for me to get in.....getting out was just logistics.
