Wall Street Journal - As Dues Dry Up, The Neighbors Pay

My Dad called me today and told me to go the Wall Street Journal Website and read this article:

As Dues Dry Up, The Neighbors Pay

Great article I have to say.  As my husband and I have been walking our neighborhood expanding our data base, we've noticed a high percentage of the neighborhood is abandoned or foreclosed upon.  We've been wondering about this within our neighborhood.  Does our HOA have enough in the slush fund to cover the dues that are drying up?

I do know that the City of Chandler is offering rebate programs for HOA's and also individuals to help subsidize some expense.

Yikes.  I never considered that but it is a very real possibility.  Let's just hope that it doesn't hit too hard.  Are there any ways that we can prevent this from happening within our HOA that you know of?

In Arizona, I know that each city is working hard to help the HOA's save costs in different areaa.  I suggest you check with your local city government or there web-site, that is where we found out our information.  Scary huh?!
