Summer Twilight Tour In Santa Barbara's LotusLand!

Services for Real Estate Pros with Napa Consultants

One of our favorite places to visit in Santa Barbara is LotusLand.  This is the time of the year when the lotus is in full bloom.   Lotusland in Santa Barbara is the legacy of Madame Ganna Walska.  She was a Polish opera singer who bought a 37 acre parcel with a lovely Italian inspired villa and an adjacent 2 bedroom home in Santa Barbara in 1940 for $40,000.  What a deal!

This year the Summer Twilight Tour with be held on August 19th, at 3:30pm-6:00PM.  This guided tour of 18 gardens is a great opportunity to view the colors of the blooms in the magical afternoon light.  The tour will also include wine and light hors-d'oeuvres on the geranium terrace overlooking the main lawn.  This is a lovely way to spend an afternoon in  Santa Barbara!

Admission is $70 for members and $80 for non-members.  Reservations are required.  You can call the Visitor Services at 805-969-9990.

When I was growing up in Hermosa Beach, my friends and I would pull gas money together and head up to Santa Barbara to surf Rincon and other breaks.  It still is a favorite destination for my wife and me.

Steffy Hristova I wrote a post about the cycads two years ago.  It is rather sad, because all three of these plants will live, but never reproduce.  They were here when the dynosaurs walked...Each one is worth in the millions.  A
