Raleigh, NC, "Recession-proof?" I hope Forbes is right!

Today Forbes says Raleigh is one of the USA's "recession-proof" cities.

Increasing employment, stable home prices (we missed the bubble excitement, by and large), and growth in professional and business services, and education and health care.

The snapshot shows an upbeat situation, and helps reinforce my opinion that Raleigh-Cary, NC is a great area to be for a real estate professional.

We seem to have slowed a little, but there is still buyer interest, and pent-up demand for homes.  Well-kept, well-located properties still sell within days in many parts of Raleigh and Cary.

Mike - I saw the article as well.  We are blessed with a very wide variety of professional fields and job opportunities.  And things like health care, education, and drug research are forecasted as top fields for many years to come.

Mike, that is GREAT news.  We have not been affected too much either.  In the fall I would have told you not at all but it has now become so hard for people to get a loan and that has caused a bit of a ripple effect.

Hello Mike,
I hope Forbes is correct about Raleigh and I hope it spreads Southeast!

Mike, Hello from a fellow Keller Williams family member a little down the road.

For me, I am happy to accept the article as correct! While our Triad area did not get honorable mention, we are both close by and in-between Charlotte and Raleigh, so a lot of what this is based on also applies to us!

Penny,

The diversification of the local economy is one of its great strengths.  And I think the Triangle is just starting to assert itself as a retirement destination.

Marchel,

I feel blessed to be here, and hopeful that we will come out strong on the other side of "The Dip."

Cynthia,

I'm sure it will spread out.  Pulling for you, anyway!

Richard,

Thanks for dropping by!  Yes, you are on that I-40/I-85 arc that seems to be so strong.
