Naperville is a city in DuPage and Will counties in Illinois,  with the majority of Naperville residents living on the DuPage County side. Naperville was originally founded as a small farming town on the banks of DuPage River. It is composed of six different townships which include Winfield, Milton, Naperville, Lisle, Wheatland, and DuPage.

 

It has since developed into an affluent community. In 2010, it was recognized as the wealthiest city in the Midwest and the 11th wealthiest city in the entire nation.

 

This city is home to acclaimed public and parochial schools. Naperville also has the best public library system in the country and boasts of world-class parks and an array of healthcare options. It is the fifth largest city in the state of Illinois behind Chicago, Aurora, Rockford, and Joliet.

Residents of Naperville have ready access to a variety of public transportation, housing, and employment options. This premier community has all the amenities of a modern city and all the charms of a small town.

 

Naperville’s humid continental climate has cold winters and warm summers. During spring and fall, residents experience comfortably warm sunny days and a crisp breeze.

 

Naperville has regular commuter rail and bus services. Passenger rail service is provided by Metra and Amtrak. There are also three other railways which belong to BNSF Railway.

 

Naperville is home to many interesting sites, including those that are on the National Register of Historic Places like the Naperville Historic District, the Moser Tower, and the Millennium Carillon.

 

The downtown area also is host to some fantastic restaurants.

 

The Naperville Public Library is also another landmark and has been voted the number one public library in the entire nation each year since 1999. It is composed of three libraries and has an average annual circulation on five million items.

 

Naperville Independent Film Festival is an annual event that showcases the works of independent filmmakers. The event attracts thousands of people from all over the state of Illinois.
