While touring the island of Kauai on our one day trip this past Saturday we were astounded at how many chickens and roosters were on this island. Everywhere!

This little chick walked right up to me and waited for me to stoop down and take a picture.

Hey little chicky! Why are you staring at me?

Posing and posturing and then walking off.

 What a cutie.

And this one wanted to dance....to do the dance 'the chicken'. LOL!

                                Majestic, don't ya think?

And I have no idea where this chicken is from hahahaha!

Okay... I thought the fowl were kinda cute. Gary made me stop taking pictures after this one:

Babies!!!!!!!  They walked across the parking lot following their mom and chirping all the way.

In Tahiti there are hugh fields of chickens with a truck part in front of the fielded making awesome chicken sandwhiches. Must be a outer island thing.

Good pictures!  I grew up on the farm and we had chickens. We had ducks for a while but we taught them to chase us and then they got violent so we had to get rid of them.

So Funny! It reminds me of Key West. They all run wild there too. There was a restaurant called Blue Heaven that had them running around everywhere.

Your pictures made me SMILE.  The geese around here just had their babies. Even though they're geese my daughter called them "duckie babies" when she was little so that's what they still are called, and they are so cute!!

I am surprised by how many chickens I saw on Kauai.  I would think the locals would BBQ them.

I love Ducks and I love Egrets and I love Parrots and Swan and every other bird there is ( I think). But I have never found chickens to be very interesting. I have seen exotic ones at the fair and they can quite magnificent. As a kid I had peeps that when they got a little bigger, one dat they just vanish ( hum-well, I know for a fact we didn't eat them)  but I always wondered why people buy them. Their beaks hurt, their s    stinks and they make all together too much noise, lol

Do the chickens run wild?  We have chickens here in Va too but they are a pain when the neighbors chickens come in our yard.

Well howdy there woman and belated mother's day.   I am thrilled that you got to go hang in one of my favorite places.    Love that island.    Anyway I am curious, in my many visits to Kauai I've been told many a story about the history of the roosters and chickens there and wonder if you have any take on that.

I'll never forget my first trip to Kauai.......  most people don't realize that the majority of homes near the beach don't have central air because of the trade winds and I'll never ever forget in the middle of the night hearing those roosters doing their "thing"....   oh my god... If I had a tape recorder of the conversations in bed too funny and great memories.

Hope all is well say hello to Gary

Kathy: multiplying indeed!  I think they are going for broke as everywhere we went there were loads of babies!

Spank George. I think if I knew it were this one I wouldn't ...then again...I love chicken.

Lizette: I know one thing...they don't run around wild on our island too much. Maybe they have a few out in the country and stuff....

Lisa: They are the cutest chirp chirps ....

William: No kidding...I went to the bathroom and all the babies outside were chirping up a storm...lol

Nannette: Yup...wild and running all over the place.

Neal: Noisy bunch of suckers huh?

Robert: Well, frozen chickies wouldn't be so cute would they?
