Do you Blog in Spurts?

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Classic Realty Associates

Sometimes we go for a long time without entering a post of any kind. And then out of nowhere comes a spark that ignites and we just let loose with the posts. We don't know if it is better to get them all done as soon as possible or just do one or two a day and spread them out over time. Which do you find to be the esiest for you?  All at once or spread out?

have a great day!

Though I'm DEFINITELY guilty, like you, of going in spurts....I'm making an effort to spread them daily so that my readers have a reason to read DAILY....I think days and days of inactivity helps readers lose interest....though spurts is better than no blogging at all.

I try to blog a minimum of 10 per week, some times a few more, some times it is less. Recently I have found it hard to get in my blogs as business is picking up.

I blog all over the place lol. day, night, extreme mornings (like 3-4 am lol) 7 days this week 2 the next 4 the next... oops forgot that week all together lol. I try not to, I just get busy or side tracked and there are days I don't even touch the computer other than to print invoices.

Hi Brent,

The number or  timing of the blogs don't really matter.  It's the quality of the blog posts that matter.  You want to be picked up and found through Google.

Daily blogs work for me because it does give readers something to follow. Many people read your blogs without ever telling you. When they stop they make sure to let you know.

I haven't blogged in a while - other than posting a listing.  I'm lucky these days if I have time to read and comment!

I don't know if it is easier, but I definately blog in spurts.  I haven't blogged in a few days, but I love reading what everyone else is doing!

Hi Brent, well....I think you qualify as a spurt type.  :)  Actually, my blogging tends to be in spurts ...few weeks on, few weeks off.  Posting a number of things in one day is hard for readers to keep up with, which is part of the fun...getting to know the readers, so I try to space mine out.  When you have a bunch of ideas all at once, you could save some as draft and then post them once a day.

I'm the spurting kind of blogger as well.  Here's really what I do: if I all of a sudden get into a blogging spree, I write them all out and just timestamp them so they are automatically published throughout the week.  This is something you can do in WordPress, but if you are just using an ActiveRain blog, just put all of your blogs in a Word document or something.  Then, when you are ready to post something new, it is as easy as copying an pasting.

My goal is one post a day yet I find myself blogging in spurts because I cannot seem to find the time to get the post done. I need to block out time daily.

Best,

Scott

It definitely comes in spurts although I'm sure it's more effective to be consistent.
