...flower!
If you know me you know that my rare down time this time of year is probably spent in our flower garden. Much of our yard is dedicated to flowers and shrubs of various kinds, and it's a never ending effort. Not all our choices thrive, others thrive so well they encroach on another patch of flowers, so during the season we're getting in the work to keep our garden balanced.
This weekend was one of those weekends, relatively little real estate work other than the expected phone calls and emails ("You have an agent? Then your agent needs to show that home to you." "Any patio homes for lease?" "What's the latest news on Fischer's new patio homes?", etc.).
So it was time to replenish some sections of our garden. We added a few more azaleas to a corner we hadn't developed yet (now over 50 total azaleas), a hibiscus, an orange coneflower, some plumbago and a new favorite of mine, blanket flowers! We have two varieties, with 7 of the variety on the left in the picture above and just one of the right side. I'll have to keep my eye out for some more of the apricot variety, but the selection was scant at the nursery and I didn't like the condition of the other two offered!
I'm hoping these thrive and spread. The colors are brilliant and tie in well with our blackeyed susans in the same area of the garden.
I could tie all this in to real estate pretty easily, but I'll skip the analogy today. What I will say is find something you enjoy and take the time to do it! And if what you do puts the beauty of some of God's handiwork right in front of you every day, all the better!
