Today is "keeping it beautiful day in Jupiter - with Jupiter Beach clean up" and Friends of Jupiter Beach. When my friend Susie invited me I initially declined, as I'm not a morning person. But here I am, up way before my normal waking hour.
My career, real estate has definitely corrupted my sleep pattern and early mornings are a vague memory. Combined with living with my geriatric dog, buyers and sellers texting or calling throughout the night, the days of arriving at the office on or before 9am are long gone. My clients work "normal" hours and showing property or going on listing appointments after 5pm and on weekends has become the norm. Then there's my side kick / mascot Ray the dog, a 13 year old Japanese Akita. To say he's sedentary is an understatement. It took 15 minutes of convincing to get him down a flight of stairs to the second level of my 3 story townhome where I now sit here typing away on my keyboard. He's laying at my feet, stretched out hoping I don't insist on walking him. Fresh food (and of course a cocktail of doggie meds) and fresh water are neatly displayed in front of him. He's more interested in sleeping. It's 7:22am and counting. The beach clean-up meeting event is scheduled for 8am.
I've decided to type this one last paragraph before rousing Ray from his sleep - walk him and head on my way. STAY TUNED.... I'll fill you in on the events when I return from my adventure!
Thanks for hanging in there... I'm back home and reporting live!
I arrived at the Jupiter beach clean up right on time. Exactly 8am. Susie and I picked up protective gloves, trash bags and hit the beach. I'm inclined to believe the beach cleanup has been such a success because there was very little trash. We ended up in the sea grapes away from the beach in order to collect anything other than cigarette butts. All in all, it was pretty uneventful.
They offered up a spread of food in the beach pavilion after wards. Friends of Jupiter Beach had a free raffle for all participants with prizes ranging from meals to T-Shirts.
