What the heck is a Wealth Check?

It's a check that you've filled out with the amount you are determined to make within the next 6 or 12 months.

This is yet another way to help you keep your goals out in front of you.  Fill out a real check - you can write "void" accross the back of it if you like, and place it where you will see it everyday - on your computer, desk or in your wallet.

You'll also need to...

  • Write the path you'll take to achieve your income goal
  • Write out the action steps required to take the path
  • Schedule (day and time) at least one action step for each day
  • Just do it!

You could and should go through this process for more then just your income.  Try this for generating more referrals, marketing niche markets or neighborhoods or your sphere.  Heck, you could do this for your internet marketing, blogging, etc.  Pick your area...the path you should take...then the action steps...and plan what steps you will take at what time each day.

If you need help figuring out your path and the action steps necessary to achieve a goal, feel free to contact me through AR or visit my site at www.ImpactYourSalesNow.com/coaching.html

We used to call it goal setting but I have gotten away from that.  Maybe that is why I am poor.

I find action goals are better as if you complete the actions - the money will follow.

Denise - well if you've gotten away from goal setting ther eis no time like the present to get back into it.  Pick one area you know you need to improve on and lay out your plan.  If you struggle with accountability...I can help you with that.

Adam...true.  However, sometimes having a dollar amount helps to motivate us to take action.  Thanks for the post.  Jeff

Jeff, good way to visualize success. Write yourself a check, and then earn that money. Spend it in your mind.......dream you make it by a certain time frame. ;-)

Visualizing is very powerful.  I have a dream board in my home office and I have VERY specific photos.  I position my short term goals on the left side of the board and bigger more long term goals on the right.  This is an easy way to maintain focus regardless of what the market is doing.  Goals are MAGIC!

Jeff - great point! I don't know if it's an urban myth, but your post reminds me of a story someone told me about Jim Carrey. Years before he became the multi-millionaire he is now, he wrote himself a $10 million check. Okay, I'm off to write that check :-)

Jackie...I had heard that story and that is what prompted me to write the post.  I'm sure you'll be able to "cash" that check.  Jeff - Coaching from Maui

Absolutelly.

"THE WHAT ALWAYS COMES BEFORE THE HOW." But few people are aware, as most of us have got the equation wrong. Once you believe having achieved your goals more than your current reality, you have set your conscious and subconscious mind on autopilot, looking for the best way to achieve it.

These are some nice stanzas from napoleon hill's "Think And Grow Rich", where he quotes from a British poet -- the viewpoint of a departed spirit:

"For Life is a just employer / He gives you what you ask / But once you have set the wages / Why, you must bear the task.

I worked for a menial's hire / Only to learn, dismayed / That any wage I had asked of Life / Life would have willingly paid."

I have my checks written to myself.. And I spend 15 minutes daily in am + evening visualizing my vision board where this is spelled out in great detail.
