Pondering About Hyperbole
Because it’s Sunday. And because I can.
As I read...and as my mind is prone to do...I wander...
and then I wonder...
and during this process I begin to ponder
and today about hyperbole.
This isn’t a political post.
Not because it couldn’t be but because it isn’t the direction I am going.
Hyperbole.
I’ve seen it in this forum. Discussions here and there.
As well as out and about. You know, in the real world. In everyday life.
We know the subject shows up in real estate.
In print. In conversation.
Casually and sometimes more formally.
In discussing offer terms. Or properties. Or people.
Qualifications. Or the lack of them.
Exaggeration. Overstatement. Embellishment. Excess. Overkill.
Yeah, these are words that certainly qualify as synonyms of hyperbole.
I digress.
And then I ponder...
I look to find what thoughts others may have on the subject.
An interesting and a diverse group of individuals bring forth even more pondering:
I satirize at all times, and my hyperboles
are as nothing compared to the events to which they refer.
Marshall McLuhan
I live in a constant state of hyperbole
Eden Sher
‘Truthful hyperbole’ is a contradiction in terms.
It’s a way of saying. ‘It’s life, but who cares?’
Tony Schwartz
So, I step back. I tell myself I am real...and genuine…
But is that the truth? I begin to question...myself
I think...I ponder. Is hyperbole normal?
I ponder about hyperbole.
About flying pigs...about exagerration. And reality.
What can I say? Where is the truth?
Can pigs fly?
And does it make a difference?
Yes, it is random.
Because it’s Sunday. And because I can.
I ponder.
Because it doesn’t have to make sense.
