An Afternoon in Frederick, Maryland

 

Chef Dolores had a 20% discount offer for Romano' Macaroni Grill at 5201 Buckystown Pike, Frederick, Maryland and we went there for a delicious lunch. Click on the link to see the menu. Sign up for their email list to receive special offers.

After lunch, we went to Attaboy Beer to sample their craft beers. I will need to write a separate blog about that positive experience. Click on the link to visit their website. You will definitely want to sample their beers.

We took the countryside route to go home to Gaithersburg and shopped at three farm markets. Mayne's Tree Farm for a supply of fresh corn and squash, Thanksgiving Farms for more produce and then to Lewis Orchards Farm Market for some serious shopping. Lewis Orchards is the favorite of Chef Dolores. Click on the links to visit the websites

I have not been to Macaroni Grill in a long time, as the one near me closed down.  I used to love the Penne Rustica there!

Roy Kelley I used to escape to Frederick for the antiquing! And I'd always have to stop at McCutcheon's.  My son's favorite mug came from there: big 'ol John Deere tractor image on it. To this day, no one else can drink from it. I gave it to him when he was three. He's now almost 13.

We were in Frederick earlier this summer and ate downtown.  We had Poirot with us so we had to find a restaurant with outdoor seating.  It was a wonderful afternoon - downtown Frederick is charming!
