One of the major attractions to the Aunt Hack neighborhood is the superb location for commuting and shopping. The neighborhood has very easy access to exit 2 & 1 on I-84, and is only 7 minutes to I-684. The location is also ideal for those working in the large corporate offices nearby on the west side and southern end of Danbury, such as Boehringer Ingelheim, Belimno, GE capital, Praxair, and Rayenthon. Many new stores, businesses and restaurants have opened up along Mill Plain Road over the last few years. The Aunt Hack neighborhood is centered around Richter Park, which opened in 1972. It is consistently ranked as one of the top 25 public golf courses in the country. The layout accommodates golfers of all skill levels, but also has some fairways and rolling greens with bunkers that can be quite challenging. The matured landscaping and the large trees lead to really special fall views against the natural landscaping. For the non golfers, there is a hiking trail and tennis courts.

There are several different kinds of homes to choose from in Aunt Hack. They range from large ranches, modern colonials, contemporaries and capes. Many older homes have substantially added on over time to suite the owner's needs. The neighborhood seems to have developed in about 4 different phases, based on the ages of homes. The original sections seems to have been developed along Cedar Crest, Elmcrest, Lindencrest & Aunt Hack Road. The second phrase appears to have been created new cul de sac streets in Devonshore, Fir,Ironwood and the whole Aunt Hack North area just north of the golf course.The third phase of development was built along the western end with the subdivisions of Wintergreen Hill, Tanglewood & TIffany, all developed in the 1980s. The last 'phase' was the Maplewood subdivision, built in the early to mid 1990s. In addition, there has been some new homes built in some of the very few remaining lots.
