GOOD MORNING FROM THE BEAUTIFUL LAKES REGION OF NEW HAMPSHIRE - Here's your weather summary for Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2017 -
You're going to love getting out of doors today under mostly sunny skies and very moderate temperatures peaking at an early autumn-like 77°. Winds will be out of the west southwest at 11 MPH, gusting to 18 MPH, not an issue for most activities with the possible exception of golf (keep the ball low into the wind).
Rain is not in the forecast until Friday, Aug. 18. So put on your best happy face and go have some fun. Here's an idea: Visit Castle in the Clouds. The Castle is a great summer venue for the entire family, with many activities, programs and events to explore at a leisurely pace.
If the day is not right for a carriage ride with your main squeeze, or horseback riding with the kids, consider a relaxing lunch in the rustic Carriage House Restaurant our a tour of Lucknow mansion and spectacular grounds. Meanwhile, the evening skies should be nearly ideal for backyard star gazing in low light areas as clouds mostly move out of the area on a west northwest breeze of 4-6 MPH, gusting to 11 MPH.
If you're planning to enjoy the evening outdoors, have a sweater or jacket at the ready. Nighttime temperatures will be lower than normal, dropping into the 50's and reaching down to an overnight low of 52°.
Weather experts say that cooler than normal tempertures will remain in the area for another week but should return to the 90° range during the final week of August.
