In case you haven’t heard Austin made the news again! According to The Telegraph’s commentary on Travel Destinations in America there’s a must read article on “How to Spend 48 hours in America’s coolest city” … that would be Austin! I know you are probably tired of all the hoopla and buzz about Austin, but I loved the write up as Austin is “A Texan city with a bohemian vibe, natural beauty and Southern hospitality that is utterly irresistible!” You need to check out this article to see all the fun places to stay and fun things to do….. in 48 hours you can cover a lot of ground!
With two carriers offering direct flights from Gatwick and Heathrow to Austin I’m betting the Brits will fall in love with Austin’s gorgeous banks of the Colorado River in the lush greenery of the Hill country!
You never know what traditions or “weirdness” (I say endearingly) you’ll find even though Austin has now secured some big time events like US’s Formula 1 Grand Prix, SXSW film and music festival and the PGA’s Worlds Golf Championships Match Play tournament. We like to feel we’re a big sexy city but there is still a small town nuance that shines through!
The article is right on when they say you can easily find that “cowboys chat up rock stars as they line up for tacos and A-list actors (Matthew McConaughey, Elijah Wood and the Wilson Brothers live in the city) hang out with the paddle boarders and turtles during their morning workout.” It’s a fact!
Only in Austin will you find hip, modern and old rustic creative combinations. The purpose is to co-exist showcasing funky artwork, and photographs of historic places and local music legends.
