The state is asking residents to conserve water...again.  And right after a rainy season that had us meet our rainfall hopeful expectations!

Residents are asked to water lawns less, plant native shrubs and install more efficient irrigation systems to stave off water shortages and impending rationing amid growing worries about a long term drought.

The urgent request comes as officials recently said the Sierra Nevada snowpack has fallen about one-third below normal levels and it is fast melting.  Some new housing dvelopments in Riverside County are on hold because water cannot be guaranteed.  Long Beach restaurants may not serve water unless a patron asks for it and home owners are asked to cut back 1 day a week of garden watering.

While many officials say it's too early to impose water rationing, plans are being made on how to facilitate mandatory conservation to deal with a possible drought.

It's too late in the season to hope for more rain, so please think good thoughts for the Californians.

And thank you for making me Your Orange County Real Estate Connection.

Best regards, Michael Caruso
