Reno, Nevada Silver Sox Baseball Team

Getting Ready For Summer!

The Silver Sox Baseball team is getting ready to start their home baseball season. As part of The Golden Baseball League, the team play their home games at Peccole Park in Reno.

Peccole Park is located on the University of Nevada, Reno campus. The following is a brief schedule of events kicking off the teams opening season:

May 23rd -  Opening Night is "Quake Night!" Two people will receive free earthquake sundae's from Swenson's Ice Cream Shoppe. Yum!  Ready Washoe will also be available answering questions and giving information out to fans on how to stay safe in an emergency.

May 24th- Not only do lucky Silver Sox fans get to see two games this night, they will also get to see an amazing FIREWORKS display after the games to kick off the 2008 season.

The Silver Sox baseball team is just another reason people love living in Northern Nevada.

Like you we don't have a major league baseball team, but us locals do love our Portland Beavers and hope to one day have a major league team.

Todd, Thanks for the imput. We would love a major team here but for now at least we are only a  three or four  hour drive away from the A's and Giants!

These Independent Leagues can really afford some great opportunities for smaller cities to see some really good baseball! Great post on your local team and the Golden Baseball League that they are a part of!
