The eclipse, a sense of wonder and awe inspiring events.

"When is the last time you stood in awe of something?"  The eclipse today made me think of how simple things like a solar eclipse can stop the masses while they stare into the sky in awe of how this amazing world works. With our fast paced hyper-connected world, it is so easy to miss the amazing while moving along with rote routine.

While driving to the office last week I saw a hawk sitting on top of a fence post.  I knew he was on the hunt.  He totally ignored me because something in brush caught his eye and he was focused.  I'm sure if I had made a move in his direction he would have taken flight, but for that moment, the world stood still and he concentrated on his prey.  I was fascinated watching him.

We accomplish great things when we allow the world to slip away while we gaze into dreams that become our passion and then reality.  Without those components, life can easily become a blur and before you know it you're looking back wondering where it went.  The dreams of youth become memories lost and hopes unfilled, and even though life may have turned out well, that sense of wonder that small children have when they look into the sky is soon forgotten.

Hi Mike, it's important for all of us to disconnect from all the gadgets and take in all the beauty of the nature. It does have many benefits.

Good morning Mike.

If only everyone would stop and pay attention, stay focused like the hawk, wouldn't that be something...  Sigh

Although we didn't have absolute totality here in Sacramento, it was still an amazing experience.
