The Iconic RE/MAX Balloon Has A Brand New Look!

The RE/MAX balloon is one of the most recognized logos world-wide. Today, RE/MAX announced and presented the new look for its iconic balloon and logo. As RE/MAX put it... the new look is:

Bold. Bright. Modern.

Instantly recognizable as RE/MAX.

New RE/MAX Logos and Branding

“Our new look better represents the enthusiastic entrepreneurs who comprise our network,” says Adam Contos, co-CEO of RE/MAX. “Great brands evolve and RE/MAX is no different. We believe the updated balloon and wordmark will help our agents grow their business and give them an even bigger competitive advantage in digital, social media and mobile marketing.”

RE/MAX’s red, white and blue hot air balloon is now “brighter, more modern and more appealing to homebuyers and sellers of today,” according to a release from the company. The refresh, which was developed with feedback from more than 20,000 consumers, is the first-ever update to the 44-year-old company’s brand identity.

“It’s a brand evolution, not a brand revolution,” says Pete Crowe, senior vice president of Communications and Marketing at RE/MAX. “The subtle adjustments to the most powerful image in real estate was a natural next step across our residential, luxury and commercial brands.

“Buyers who are 36 years old and younger continue to purchase homes at a higher rate than other age groups,” Crowe says. “At the same time, real estate tools and technologies have drastically changed the way we help people buy and sell houses. The refreshed brand is a proactive move to continue to position RE/MAX agents as industry leaders for the homebuyers and sellers of today and tomorrow.”

After 10 years with RE/MAX, having lived through several balloon changes, I can say I love this new look. My company in Charlotte, RE/MAX Executive, will be one of the first in the RE/MAX network to be adopting the new logos. And I've already ordered several new signs to put in front of my listed properties... (it didn't hurt that RE/MAX offered some deep discounts to agents to do so). Now off to think about designing my new business cards and stationery.

If you are considering selling or purchasing a home  in the Charlotte metro area, I would love an opportunity to earn your business, exceed your expectations, and to prove to you not only that:

"The Right Broker Makes All The Difference"

but that:

RE/MAX remains the sign you want and the agent you need!

Dorie Dillard ~ hi Dorie... RE/MAX did a ton of market testing before unveiling the new balloon and logo. I had a sneak peek of it in July and my first reaction was so-so, but once I got a good look at it yesterday, I'm all for the new format.

Gabe Sanders ~ hi Gabe... the good thing about RE/MAX is that they are not forcing anyone to adopt the new look. For those who like the traditional look, it will be there for them to continue to use.

Dick Greenberg ~ hi Dick... there's always that feeling at first that you don't fuss around with an iconic look, but somehow RE/MAX always gets it right in the long run when they to make changes. I love the new look.

Ginny Gorman ~ hi Ginny... that balloon is recognized world-wide... but all test markets indicated people preferred something cleaner and sleeker... and I think that's what RE/MAx gave them.

Doesn't look like much of a difference from the old one but you shouldn't stray to far from the old one.

Gosh, do you have to change all of your marketing materials then, and your cards and everything? They keep hounding me in Sacramento but I'm not changing companies for a while, if I ever do.

Elizabeth Weintraub Sacramento Real Estate Agent, Top 1% of Lyon Agents ~ I don't have to change anything, Elizabeth. It's totally up to me whether I use the new logos or not. But my signs, which I've used since 2004, have been fraying, I did order some new ones with the new logo, since RE/MAX was providing me a deep discount. We are moving our office this fall so I need new business cards in any event (and I'll keep using the old ones to leave in houses for showings, but I'm getting low on these, too, not having replenished much in preparation for the office move.)

The most time consuming thing at some point will be changes on websites once my company provides me with the new logo, as we will be one of the first franchises to be adopting it.
