Summer lasts till late September, looking at the calendar.

Many people think the last days of August are really the start of a welcome to Fall.

It's getting darker earlier, some Maple trees are starting to turn golden, the fields and orchards are in harvest-fruition mode...islanders are already planning their Fall Fair entries.

Summer really is a short season on the great Pacific Northwest Coast...catch the lingering days of late August.

Swimming at St Mary or Cusheon or Weston Lakes, sunset watching at Vesuvius Beach, patio dining at Auntie Pesto's, Piccolo's, Moby's, Seaside, Salt Spring Inn, or Rock Salt, plus coffee patio time at TJ Beans or Cafe Talia or Fernwood Cafe. Try the Salt Spring Cheese bistro, Kismet on Beaver Point Road, Twig & Buoy's pizza. The key? Keep that exterior living going as long as possible!

All seasons are delectable on special Salt Spring Island, and there is always something beautiful to ponder. Late summer is especially evocative.

A little star watching perhaps? Enjoy.....

Li,

Actually we love it here when September comes.  That means the tourist season is over, and we have very few if any days of marine layer...A

Alays think Spring is my favourite, but after a hot summer those cooler days and evenings a re a delight as is the color of the leaves.
