There are all kinds of things said about weather casters....if they say "partly cloudy" or "chance of....rain, snow, sleet, hail" the chances are ...they are right ! There is a chance...if it materializes they are right...if it doesn't....they are still right.
The news is full of the Hurricane Harvey and the path he is cutting through Texas with expectations that the destruction will exceed the horrific levels that we saw of Katrina when she ravaged the Gulf coast in 2005. We had for years before made regular trips to Gulfport/Biloxi pre-Katrina and have returned in the last few years....with pride and a tenacious attitude, the people in the area have risen from the storm destruction and rebuilt the area and southern hospitality once again returned to the tourist filled states of Mississippi and Louisiana.
You have to believe in positive thinking if you are self employed...it is part of your survival....if you hit a "bump in the road" you find another path. You don't get that listing or that sale....and you move on to the next one. You can ....and we think maybe should...allow yourself the 48 hours of "feeling down" before you hit the pavement and find the renewed strength to continue your path to success. No one gets everything.....all the time.
Positive thought has strength....it works for the individual who has it and we know that it is appreciated by the people who receive it.
Please join us.....and spend a few minutes every day....sending those positive thoughts...the rays of sunshine...the attitude that it will take to not just endure and survive but thrive after being hit by the path of Hurricane Harvey.....Come on Active Rain....there is power in numbers...and it doesn't cost anything for each of us to send our highest and best thoughts.
For those of us who can afford to reach into your wallet or purse...find a cause that spends wisely on direct relief and less on administration. Getting the money, the food, the comfort to the people who need it most.
