Thank you to Nina Hollander for this beautiful post on Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day. I was in tears remembering those I've loved and lost.
Today, August 28th is Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day-- a day set aside to remember the pet companions we've loved and lost and not forgotten.
Today, I'm remembering my beloved pets who've crossed that rainbow bridge -- Max, Gracie, Tutti, Frutti, Natasha, Christina, Murka, and others. And while the pain of losing them has lessened over the years, my memories of each are still vibrant and clear in my mind's eye. And I've never had any doubt in my mind that one day when I, myself, cross the rainbow bridge, I'll be reunited with all of my fur-babies.
God has given to us our pets to gladden our earthly sojourn
And perhaps to teach us lessons of love and loyalty
That if we in return, show the same towards our Master,
the great God of heaven and earth,
Then truly our pets do guide us closer to heaven...

I hope remembering your beloved and faithful companions today brings a smile to your face, warms your heart with wonderful memories, and gladdens your earthly sojourn till you meet again.
